I know we have only just tentatively entered spring but I for one cannot wait for warmer days to spend more time outside. The outdoors also has much to offer in the way of kids parties! Here are some of my personal favourite outdoors children’s party venues:
Sandown Sports Club has become a very popular venue for children’s parties and it is easy to see why. They offer amazing high-thrill fun sliding down the ski-slopes on specially designed sledges and mini Ringo’s.
If that was not fun enough, in the warmer months you can get add ‘Water Wars‘ to your party. . Water Wars is an interactive water attraction in which participants launch water balloons at each other from within opposing battle stations using the water balloon catapult. I can feel a Mum’s versus Dads team battle coming on…
Surrey Wildlife Trust – Nower Wood, Nr Leatherhead
Set in the glorious Nower Wood Nature Reserve, Surrey Wildlife Trust offer fantastic parties for kids. Building camp fires, searching for fairies, navigating wild woods – simply heaven for little outdoor adventurers! You can pick your party from a range of age appropriate parties for boys and girls including Treasure Hunt, Orienteering, Woodland Fairies, Bushcrafts, Mini Beast Hunt and Woodland Survival. My youngest daughter attended a Woodland Fairy Party where she wore her wings in the woods, visited magical fairy gardens and weaved fairy spells. Not only do the children have a wonderful time but they are also helping to save our beautiful environment!
I LOVE the Shetland Pony Club, my children were invited to a very lucky special little girls 5th birthday there. I don’t think parties can possibly get any prettier than this! Beautiful Surrounding, the cutest ponies, wigwams and bunting, adorable little saddles, my kids never wanted to leave…and neither did I. This is a gorgeous venue with friendly, relaxed and professional staff. On arrival the children are gently introduced to their pony (Honeybee, Samson, Batman or one of their equally adorable friends) and help to tack up their pony for the ride. They choose their saddle and spend time grooming their new four-legged friend, then they actually get to ride them…an unforgettable ride out in beautiful Surrey countryside. After a water stop for children and ponies it’s a ride back to the stable for a birthday tea served on hay-bale furniture. Perhaps not a party for those of us on a budget but trust me this is one totally unforgettable treat!
The Thames Ditton Miniature Railway
This is a personal favourite of mine, its right up my street as it is simple plain old-fashioned fun! Malden DSME in Thames Ditton hold open days throughout the spring and summer, these are fabulous days out for the kids and there are plenty of trains to try with two different lines to enjoy. Prices are really reasonable from £2.50 a ride or £6.50 for unlimited rides. Birthday Parties can be held in the a huge field on the site with plenty of room to spread out and have extra games etc. Please do note it is popular so best arrive early to catch some rides before the queues. If you haven’t got a party to plan…go anyway it’s a gem of a place with ice cream for £1, and old-fashioned cafe with lovely ladies serving tea wearing 1950′s style tabards.
